Istanbul Nisantasi University was established by the Nisantasi Education and Culture Foundation, and gained public legal personality with the establishment decision numbered 6307 and published in the Official Gazette numbered 28309 on May 31, 2012. It started its higher education activities in the 2012-2013 academic year.
In 2017, Nisantasi University underwent a major renovation and moved all of its campuses to the new NeoTech campus located in Ağaoğlu 1453, along with many other innovations, including its academic staff.
As of May 2021, Nisantasi University has 46 undergraduate programs, 45 associate degree programs, and 21 graduate programs including doctoral programs. Additionally, approximately 19,000 students are studying at the university.
According to the latest results of the Higher Education Entrance Examination (YKS) preference survey, the most preferred departments at the university are Computer Engineering, English Language and Literature, and Software Engineering.
