Istanbul Arel University is a foundation university established by Kemal Gözükara Education and Culture Foundation under the Law No. 5656, and its establishment was completed by being published in the Official Gazette No. 26526 on May 18, 2007, within the framework of the Higher Education Law, with legal, financial and administrative autonomy. The language of instruction at Istanbul Arel University is generally English, and students have the option to learn a second foreign language upon request.
The university provides education at two campuses, Sefaköy and Tepekent. The Vocational School is located in the Sefaköy campus, while the faculties, the School of Applied Sciences and the School of Foreign Languages are located in the Tepekent campus. Due to the distance of the Tepekent campus from the city center, free shuttle services are available from the last stop of the Beylikdüzü Metrobus to the Tepekent campus from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, and from the Tepekent campus to the last stop of the Beylikdüzü Metrobus from 12:45 pm to 6:00 pm.
