TOBB University

TOBB Economics and Technology University (TOBB ETU) is a foundation university established in Ankara in 2003 by the Turkey Chambers and Commodity Exchanges Education and Culture Foundation, which is a subsidiary of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. The decision to establish the university was published in the official gazette on July 1, 2003. The main difference that sets TOBB ETU apart from other universities in Turkey is its Cooperative Education Program. With this program, the university aims to produce individuals with work experience upon graduation, and in the 2004-2005 academic year, the university began its academic activities with 270 students in 7 departments in 3 faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In its first year of accepting students, TOBB ETU was among the top 5 most preferred universities by students.

TOBB ETU was the first university in Turkey to implement a cooperative education program that provides students with one year of work experience in the private sector or various institutions while receiving a salary. The university aims to meet the needs of the industry for qualified workforce by providing both theoretical and practical education, and by ensuring university-industry coordination.

According to the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) published in 2013, TOBB ETU ranked first among 51 universities established after 2000. Additionally, in the same year, URAP ranked TOBB Economics and Technology University among the top 5 best foundation universities in Turkey.
